CITIZENS FOR KIDS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION GRANT PROGRAM

 

The Citizens for Kids Educational Foundation (CFKEF) will provide funds for programs, projects and services that maintain or enhance the educational experience of and opportunities available to the students of the Chino Valley Unified School District (CVUSD). Successful applications will be able to delineate convincingly the ability to improve student achievement, provide a positive school climate, contribute to an effective learning environment and/or maintain a safe campus.

FUNDING CYCLE

Awards are made two times per year, in March and October, unless a need is identified as pressing or urgent. Applications for funding, which must be made in writing and follow the guidelines described herein, are accepted during the two months prior to every “award month” followed by a 30-day evaluation period. Each applicant must submit a proposal and complete an itemized budget.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Applicants must be employees of CVUSD, or must operate programs that exclusively serve district students.

All CVUSD certificated personnel are eligible to apply for Teacher Grants. Proposals may be submitted by individual teachers, teams of teachers, or other certificated district personnel.

School-wide project proposals must be submitted by the school principal or program manager.

GRANT SELECTION

All grant proposals are screened for basic requirements and reviewed by the CFKEF Executive Board. Proposals recommended for funding are presented and voted upon at meetings of the Board of Directors. Proposals which are not funded may be resubmitted for consideration at a later date.

GRANT AMOUNTS

Grants will be awarded to individual teachers in amounts ranging from $250 to $2,000, and up to $5,000 may be awarded to individual schools or programs. The maximum amount here stated may be exceeded under special circumstances as determined by the Foundation’s Executive Committee.
